Hinduism is the oldest and most complicated of all the world's religions and teachings. Hinduism is based in a belief of one Supreme Being with many aspects. The exterior, or transcendent gods, the highest person, can be worshipped as both Father and/or Mother of the Universe. The other aspects of the Supreme Being are within us for us to connect with. All souls are evolving and progressing toward union with God, and in that way, find liberation and salvation.
Karma is the physical and moral law of cause and effect. It is about accepting responsibility for actions, thoughts, and words which creates destiny for the individual and any consequences affecting others.
The soul reincarnates again and again to pay the karmic debts, good and bad. The goal for the Hindu is to break the cycle and rejoin God.
The Hindus believe in non-violence and interdependency among all life and the entire Universe. The teachings of love and compassion, right action, and virtues are at the forefront of attaining the path to karmic freedom and oneness with God.
All this, whatsoever moves in this moving Universe, is permeated and inhabited by God, enveloped by God. Therefore you should enjoy the world, only be first renouncing and disowning the things of the world. Do not covet; whose indeed are these treasures in the Universe? In Darkness are they who worship only the world. In greater darkness are they who only worship the Infinite alone. Those who accept both save themselves from death by the knowledge of the former and attain immortality by the knowledge of the latter.....And one who sees all beings in his own Self, and his own self in all beings, no more loathes and hates.
Isa Upanishad 1, 6, 9-11
Oh Brahman Supreme! Formless and colorless are you. But in mystery, through your power you transform your light and radiance into many forms and colors in creation. You bring forth the creation and then withdraw them to yourself. Fill us with the grace of your auspicious thoughts and vision.....
You are in the woman, in the man. You are in the young boy, in the youthful maiden. You are in the old man who walks with his staff.....You are in the dark butterfly, in the green parrot with red eyes.....You are without beginning, infinite, beyond time and space. All the worlds had their origin in you.
Svetasvatara Upanishad IV: 1-4
In whatever way and path, humans worship, in that same path do I meet and fulfill their aspirations and grace them. It is always My path that humans follow in all their different paths and journeys, on all sides.
Bhagavad-Gita IV: 11
